Bay Broadcasting hires Dave Kelly and Liam Thompson

Bay Broadcasting has hired Dave Kelly and Liam Thompson as Group Programme Consultants. Dave Kelly was Group Programme Director of FM104 and Q102 for almost twenty years, whilst Liam Thompson has been Group Programme Director of Communicorp and PD of Magic London and launch director of Virgin Radio in the UK. Liam also worked as a Consultant for Cork’s 96FM and C103 in 2017. As consultants, they will work with Bay Broadcasting’s Radio Nova and Classic Hits, implementing a joint strategy for the stations to develop the two brands into the future and capitalise on opportunities Bay sees in the Irish radio market currently...

The Classic Hit Bit has been won after 10 months

Classic Hit competition – the Classic Hits Bit – has been won after 10 months with one listener winning €4,400. Presenters on the station have been asking listeners to identify the hit that the bit comes from since February, and Agata Jaguszewsza from Dublin guessed ‘Mike Oldfield – Moonlight Shadow’ on The Damian Farrelly Show. A different ball game coming to Classic Hits

Classic Hits is launching a new show called A Different Ball Game presented by Shane Dowling and Louise Cantillon. The weekly show will analyse what will be a historic GAA Championship. Mitsubishi renews Classic Hits cars sponsorship

Classic Hits has continued its deal with Mitsubishi Motors Ireland to sponsor four of its promotional cars. The sponsorship agreement comprises of two Eclipse Cross’ and two ASX’s driven by the Mitsubishi Motors Classic Crew. Neville Murphy, Advertising Account Manager of Classic Hits said: “Classic Hits are delighted to have extended their partnership with Mitsubishi Motors Ireland Ltd. PJ & Jim move breakfast show on Classic Hits

Breakfast is moving later in the day for PJ & Jim on Classic Hits as they move their show to an 8am start. From this Monday morning PJ & Jim on Classic Hits will start two hours later than normal and be on-air till midday, Monday to Friday. Meghann Scully replaces Owen Larkin at Classic Hits

Changes to the Classic Hits weekend schedule are coming at the end of October as Owen Larkin departs. Meghann Scully will take over Owen’s Saturday lunch time slot, from 11am till 2pm, in addition to her Sunday night Guaranteed Irish show. The former SPIN Hits presenter joined Classic Hits earlier this year. Owen has been part of the Classic Hits schedule for over six years, but will be leaving to take on a new full-time role at Downtown Radio in Belfast.
