About RTÉ Lyric FM

Listen to the online radio of RTÉ Lyric FM live, which has been broadcasting nationally since 1999 from its studios in Limerick. The station is owned by Raidió Teilifís Éireann, Ireland’s National Public Service Broadcaster. RTÉ Lyric FM provides a more traditional form of entertainment within RTÉ’s radio group. As a result, the playlist predominantly features classical music, encompassing classical, opera, jazz, world, traditional, and contemporary music, including movie soundtracks. The distinguishing factor is that the music is performed using traditional instruments. Music forms the core of the radio's broadcast, but there are also segments featuring discussions about the origins of the music being played and insights into the arts of Ireland and the world, which help contextualize the music pieces. The broadcaster begins the weekdays with the "Marty in the Morning" breakfast show, hosted by Marty Whelan, airing from 7am to 10am. Marty curates the finest tunes to kickstart the day and, in addition to the music, provides his listeners with the latest news and updates on travel and weather.
